Rome: Murder of Margherita Ceschin, Joel Luciano Lorenzo arrested for having actively participated in the uxoricide
He returned to Italy, escorted by personnel from the Service for International Police Cooperation of the Central Directorate of Criminal Police, Joel Luciano Lorenzo, born in 1999, accused of having actively participated in the murder of Margherita Ceschin which took place in Conegliano on 23 June 2023. The bloody uxoricide, orchestrated by her husband Enzo Lorenzon, was perpetrated by Luciano Lorenzo Sergio Antonio, Mateo Garcia Jose Luis and Luciano Lorenzo Joel. The search for the perpetrators of the crime in Italy was carried out by the Carabinieri Company Command of Conegliano Veneto on the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Treviso.
Juan Luciano Lorenzo's escape abroad identified, with the related internationalization of the Arrest Warrant and the issuing of the Interpol “Red Notice”, the International Police Cooperation Service was immediately activated of the Central Directorate of Criminal Police and the Security Expert based in Santo Domingo. The fruitful collaboration with the police of the Dominican Republic then led to the tracking of the fugitive in San Juan de la Maguana on October 25, 2024.
Upon arrival on Italian territory after the formal procedures Juan Luciano Lorenzo was transferred to the Rebibbia prison in Rome at the disposal of the Treviso Prosecutor's Office. Today's extradition once again highlights the coordination work of the SCIP of the Criminalpol, directed by Prefect Raffaele Grassi, as the national point of contact of the Department of Public Security with police forces around the world.
