Rome: the “Stefano Rodotà House of Solidarity” inaugurated in San Lorenzo.
In 15 Equi Street, In the heart of San Lorenzo, opened the doors “Stefano Rodotà House of Solidarity”, a new space dedicated to the legality and social inclusionThe structure, located in a property confiscated from organised crime, was assigned by Rome capital city al II Town Hall and it comes from a co-design between Municipio II and the Rete dei Numeri Pari.
A cut the ribbon was Father Luigi Ciotti, symbol of the fight against the mafia and the promotion of civil rights.
A place of legality and participation
During the inauguration, the calendar of cultural activities and to the free counters which will be available inside the space.
"This place represents not only the intellectual and moral legacy of Stefano Rodotà, but also testifies to our commitment to valorizing the assets confiscated from organized crime and allocating them to legality and inclusion"Said Tobias Zevi, Councilor for Heritage and Housing Policies of Rome Capital. «The House of Solidarity is the result of the joint commitment of institutions, associations and citizens».
The initiative aims to provide free services, training and workshops to the most vulnerable sections of the population, in particular impoverished people, in conditions of social and cultural hardship or at risk of exclusion.
«San Lorenzo now has a new shared public space, dedicated to fighting inequalities and promoting equity, inclusion and rights», he added Frances Del Bello, President of Town Hall II.

Among others, the inauguration was attended by: Gaetano Azzariti (Save the Constitution), Alice Basiglini (Baobab Experience), Don Mattia Ferrari (Mediterranea Saving Humans) and Carla Rodotà, Stefano Rodotà's wife.
La “Stefano Rodotà House of Solidarity” represents a model of participation and civil commitment, a symbol of how confiscated assets can become spaces for collective growth and to fight against the mafia.
