Rome: Followed and rear-ended by his former employer, 49-year-old Roman ends up in handcuffs for stalking
It happened in the Wednesday evening, January 15, 2025, in via Giovanni Battista Morgagni. They were just after 23.00pm when the radios of the Sant'Ippolito and San Lorenzo police stations were sent to the site by the operations room of the Police Headquarters following the report of a fight in the street between a man and a woman.
When the police arrived on the scene, the woman was still visibly agitated and shaken. Next to her, the man, with excited and aggressive tones, continued to swear at her and threaten her.
Only a few hours earlier, the victim had noticed the car of the man - her former employer, with whom she had had a relationship that lasted about a year - parked outside the business where the woman was working. A little later, when she had met his gaze while he was stationed next to the window, she had asked a friend for help, terrified by the insistent presence of her ex. Since they had broken off their relationship, in fact, the man had assumed a violent and obsessive behavior towards her.
Just when the arrival of the friend seemed to have convinced him to desist and, in the meantime, the woman had left the place, climbing “safely” into the car with him, they suddenly felt a rear-end collision from behind by another vehicle. The ex-partner was still driving. At this point a heated argument broke out, which was then quelled when the police arrived.
The man, still in an evident state of agitation even in the presence of the officers, ended up in handcuffs for the crime of persecutory acts precisely because of the violent and aggressive behavior assumed, for some time now, towards his ex-girlfriend. The judicial authority has validated the arrest.
