Rome, checks and arrests on the territory by the State Police to fight drug dealing
Arrests and checks by the State Police in the drug dealing areas of Tor Bella Monaca. An attempted murder was solved, again linked to the world of drugs, and 2 arrests were made in flagrante delicto. Checks were also carried out in the suburbs of Finocchio and Ponte di Nona.
Only the prompt reaction of the injured party prevented the murder from being committed; this is one of the sentences with which the GIP formulated the order that led to the imprisonment of a sixty-one-year-old Tunisian at the end of an investigation conducted by the State Police with the coordination of the Rome Prosecutor's Office. Added to this are 2 arrests in flagrante delicto, all part of the fight against drug trafficking in the Tor Bella Monaca neighborhood.
The events that led to the arrest of the Tunisian occurred at the beginning of the month: the victim, in the middle of the night, knowing the drug dealing area of via Quaglia, went looking for drugs even though he had no money to pay for them. According to his story, he had "presented the problem" to a young pusher who had her boss intervene, namely the current suspect who, in exchange for the dose, had asked the drug addict for sexual favors. The victim allegedly refused and at that point the attacker pulled out a knife and tried to stab his opponent in the chest; the blow missed but still injured the drug addict's wrist. The Tunisian, at that point, did not stop and allegedly stabbed the victim again, further injuring him, and then, once the victim was on the ground, he began to kick and punch him. Some reports to 112 allowed the intervention of the health workers and the officers of the Casilino District; the same police officers collected the first pieces of evidence and began the investigations that, in a short time, allowed them to identify a suspect among the well-known faces of that drug dealing area. Further elements then allowed the Prosecutor's Office to formalize the accusation and ask and obtain from the Judge for Preliminary Investigations the issuance of a precautionary measure. It was the same agents of the Casilino District, after a few days of research, who found and took the Tunisian to prison.
Also in the context of the fight against drug dealing, two men were arrested by the same State Police investigators who operate in the Tor Bella Monaca area: a 29-year-old Tunisian found in via dell'archeologia in possession of more than 85 doses of cocaine ready for sale and a 32-year-old Italian caught in via Camassei on board a stolen moped with approximately 10 grams of narcotic substance between cocaine and hashish. Both arrests were validated by the Judicial Authority. In any case, all the suspects are to be considered presumed innocent, considering the current phase of the proceedings, that is, that of the preliminary investigations, until a definitive determination of guilt with an irrevocable sentence.
In parallel with the judicial police operations, the Casilino District carried out a series of checks in the areas of Villaggio Falcone, Ponte di Nona and Finocchio, in which the staff of ASL Roma 2 and - with regards to the restoration of urban decorum - the workers of the SIMU municipal department contributed. 64 people identified, 6 vehicles checked and 3 public establishments with criminal sanctions attached to the respective owners and consequent suspension of activities
