“With the acquisition of these new homes we are strengthening public assets and offering a real response to the most vulnerable families waiting for a home” – said Tobias Zevi, Capitoline Councillor for Heritage and Housing Policies – “we are charting a precise direction: increasing the number of social housing available for those who have been living in difficult conditions for years and are on the waiting list. At the same time, we are continuing the work to overcome passive rents, directly acquiring the properties currently rented by Roma Capitale, an intervention that will be included in a forthcoming resolution. A common-sense choice: instead of continuing to pay rent for assets that do not belong to us, we make them part of the public heritage”.
