Automobili Lamborghini and the State Police celebrate 20 years of deep and fruitful collaboration, which began in 2004 with the donation of a Lamborghini Gallardo. Since, This partnership has allowed the State Police to benefit from high-performance vehicles over the years, used as valuable tools in patrol services and in emergency medical interventions. Particularly, the vehicles have carried out over 200 organ transport missions throughout Italy, contributing in several cases to saving human lives. Furthermore, The cars have been protagonists in over 1.500 road education events to promote the culture of safe driving.

Over these 20 years, different Lamborghini models have followed one another, creating a collaboration rich in stories and significant events.. Overall, they were six examples have entered the State Police fleet, each with specific features and advanced technologies designed to support security and emergency operations.
Gallardo (2004-2005)
The collaboration began in 2004, when Automobili Lamborghini delivered the first Gallardo 510-4 to the State Police, which was used to carry out the first organ transport in September of the same year. This car represented the first series-production Lamborghini to be equipped with a V10 engine, with a cutting-edge powerplant: 5 liters with dry sump lubrication, double overhead camshaft for each bank, with variable valve timing (4 per cylinder) and chain-driven timing.
The Gallardo was assigned to the Rome Highway Patrol and completed four years of service, covering approximately 140.000 kilometers in patrol operations in the central and southern regions and for emergency medical interventions. Equipped with traffic monitoring devices, the Gallardo could detect dangerous driving behavior, identify license plates and transmit real-time images to control rooms. In 2005 a second Lamborghini was delivered, always 510-4, operating in the Bologna area, with similar equipment for road safety control and the important addition of a coolbox in the trunk for the urgent transportation of organs.
Gallardo LP 560-4 (2008)
In 2008, the early Gallardos were replaced by the Gallardo LP 560-4, an updated version with higher performance and advanced technological features. 10-liter V5,2 engine with 560 hp, permanent all-wheel drive that ensures maximum dynamic stability, 3,7 seconds for acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h and 325 km/h of top speed. These are the numbers of the successor to the Gallardo in service with the State Police. Assigned to the central-southern regions, this vehicle operated mainly along the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway. Even on this car, The front trunk has been equipped with a refrigerated box for the rapid transport of organs, together with a defibrillator, thus supporting emergency medical operations and helping to save lives.
In addition to daily services, Over the years, the Gallardo has taken part in numerous representative events, such as the traditional parade for the Festa della Polizia in Rome, as well as acting as an escort in vintage car competitions such as the Targa Florio and the rally Milano–San Remo. One of the previous models even represented the colors of the New York State Police, parading in the Columbus Day parade in 2004 and 2005.
Huracan LP 610-4 (2014-2017)
In 2014, Automobili Lamborghini donated a Huracán LP 610-4 to the Italian State Police, followed by a second model in 2017. The car features a 10-liter, 5.2 kW / 449 hp naturally aspirated V610 engine with direct and indirect injection and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,2 seconds with a top speed of 325 km/h. Designed specifically for this collaboration, the Huracán features all-wheel drive and an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis, ensuring stability even at high speeds. Every detail has been studied to maximize performance, including the aerodynamically optimized flashing light on the roofo. The lights, with an ultra-flat profile, include Blue LED at the base for improved visibility, While the aluminum shell is equipped with white LEDs on the front, back and sides.
In February 2023 as part of the national Cross-Over programme, the Lamborghini Huracan supplied to the Highway Police Department for Emilia-Romagna was the protagonist of a delicate transport of organs. From the San Salvatore Hospital in L'Aquila it was a kidney was removed and transported safely to Le Molinette Hospital in Turin. The timely delivery of the precious organ saved the life of a 57-year-old woman.
Urus Performante (2023)
The latest vehicle to join the State Police fleet was an Urus Performante, delivered in Piazza del Viminale in Rome in December last year in the presence of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and Chief of Police Vittorio Pisani, who received the keys to the car directly from the hands of Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. The car, equipped with the V8 twin-turbo engine with 666 HP of maximum power and 850 Nm of torque at 2.300 to 4.500 rpm, guarantees acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3,3 seconds and a top speed of 306 km/h. This model was built in Sant'Agata Bolognese with a livery designed by the Lamborghini Style Centre, which combines the classic “Azzurro Polizia di Stato” with white and tricolour bands on the side sills and belt line.
The Urus has been customized with essential public safety features, including a reinforced weapon drawer, a fold-down message panel, a trunk compartment for equipment and a defibrillator. Like all donated cars, it is equipped with a refrigerated box for the transport of organs, with a display and data logger for constant temperature monitoring.
