Rome: 39 people reported in the clashes at the demonstration in San Lorenzo “Justice for Ramy”.

Yesterday afternoon, January 15, 2025, the DIGOS of the Rome Police Headquarters filed a criminal report with the Capitoline Prosecutor's Office for the very serious episodes of violence that occurred during the evening of Saturday, January 11, during the unannounced demonstration "THE CARABINIERI WERE THE JUSTICE FOR RAMY".

The investigation stems from the episodes of violence recorded on the evening of January 11, following the meeting that the associations “ZAUM Sapienza”, “Azione Antifascista Trieste Salario”, “Settima, Movimento”, “Monteverde Antifascista”, “Delollisunderground” and “Assemblea portuense” had arranged from 19:00 pm in Piazza dell'Immacolata.

After walking through some streets of San Lorenzo, the about 250 protesters, including Anarchists, belonging to the ZAUM collective and the CAR (Roman Autonomous Coordination), behind a banner with the words “REVENGE FOR RAMY THE POLICE KILLS 1312”, reached the nearby Piazza dei Sanniti, near which the Carabinieri station “San Lorenzo” is located, where they started a dense and violent launch of paper bombs and blunt material against the impressive police force placed to guard the Carabinieri Station, damaging some vehicles of the Police Force and injuring 9 officers.

The analysis of the copious video material, examined by the DIGOS agents, has allowed us to hypothesize and submit it to the Judicial Authority for examination, against 39 demonstrators (2 of whom are minors), the crimes of unannounced demonstration, seditious assembly, violence and resistance to a public official, private violence, incitement to disobey the law and the dangerous throwing of objects, in conjunction and with the aggravated modalities.
