Rome: 20 individuals attacked police officers in an attempt to make a couple of drug dealers escape from imminent arrest
Targeted controls on drug dealing and widespread crime were implemented yesterday evening by the men of the Prenestino State Police Station in the Quarticciolo area, as part of a targeted strategy planned for months by the Police Headquarters. Monitoring the area made it possible to trace the movements of two subjects, an Italian woman and a man of North African origins, who, in a short time, confirmed the suspicions of the agents. A parked scooter was the logistics base. In the underseat compartment were stored the doses packaged in blue cellophane, for a total of 136 packages of cocaine and crack, which, based on the arrival of the customers, were collected and delivered.
The officers then took action.and blocking the two and putting an end to the retail sale of the drug. At this point, however, the arrested one, the man of North African origins, he put up a strong resistance, trying to break free, even kicking and hitting the officers in other ways. The attempt to escape, however, was in vain, until the arrival of a group of about twenty subjects, all presumably gravitating towards the same criminal context, who carried out an attack against the police officers involved in the aforementioned activity, also using pepper spray, nebulized in the direction of the officers themselves.
As a result of the circumstances described, the arrested man, taking advantage of the disorientation of the police officers due to the aforementioned pepper spray, managed to escape. Faced with the scene described, however, the officers involved in the judicial police activity did not retreat and, indeed, also availing themselves of the support of additional crews that were sent to the site by the Operations Room of the Police Headquarters, they managed to restore order, then proceeded to escort a total of eleven people to the office, including one of the two arrested.
Following the ritual investigations, five of the people accompanied to the office (4 of Moroccan nationality and one Tunisian) were found not to be in order with regards to their stay on the national territory, and, as a result, following the completion of the relevant procedures, they will be placed at the Repatriation Detention Centre in Bari. It should be noted that, at the conclusion of a rigorous investigative activity, the agents of the Prenestino State Police Station They tracked down the fugitive, a twenty-five year old Tunisian, and arrested him.
The Capitoline Police Headquarters will continue to monitor the territory and combat any form of crime that affects the Quarticciolo area with even greater incisiveness. Since December, the Prenestino State Police Station has made 15 arrests as part of the checks it has implemented, alongside numerous ongoing investigative activities.
