Rome. 32-year-old arrested for possession of explosive material and weapons.
The policemen of the Bishop's Commissariat, together with the staff of Flying Squad, with the help of bomb disposal experts from the Rome Police Headquarters, they arrested a 32-year-old because he was found in possession of explosive material and weapons.
Specifically, the man, after the end of a relationship with a woman, began to threaten and scare her by stalking her outside the house of a friend where she had found hospitality; in recent days, investigators intervened following a report of an explosion near the Trieste neighborhood.
Arrived on site, together with the Fire fighters, they noticed that the woman's car had probably been damaged by a paper bomb placed on the bonnet. The woman told the officers about some threats she had received and showed them the chat with the 32-year-old where there were also unequivocal references to her car.
The police then searched the man's home and found two pyrotechnic devices weighing approximately half a kilo in total. which, examined by the bomb squad, were found to be very dangerous as, if suitably triggered, they could have cause significant harmful effects to people and things. In addition to the bombs there were also two "Glock" model replica pistols found, one "Beretta" model, without red cap, with blank ammunition and a scimitar-type knife approximately 40 cm long.
The man was then arrested because he was seriously suspected of the crime of possession of weapons, ammunition and explosive devices.
In any case, the suspect is presumed innocent, in consideration of the current phase of the proceedings, i.e. that of the preliminary investigations, until a definitive finding of guilt with an irrevocable sentence.
