They had decided to move in together during the Covid-19 pandemic, but, for the woman's partner, the "restrictions" had continued uninterrupted until last November, when, after four and a half years of mental and physical isolation and the constant violence that forced him to endure, the man decided to extinguish forever the flame that animated his partner's anger.
For years, the victim, a 35-year-old Roman, had in fact become the scapegoat for the woman's outbursts of anger, having been repeatedly hospitalized in psychiatric centers because she suffered from bipolar disorder. A history of continuous verbal aggression alternating with physical ones. In 2023, the man had to seek medical attention in the emergency room, but, even on that occasion, he had protected his partner by declaring that he had fallen at home. Over the years, he had continued to "take" the blows, even "with a rolling pin", but, thanks to the woman's addiction to alcohol, the victim had always overlooked it.
A progressive escalation culminating, last November, in death threats: «You don't run away from here now, you die", she had yelled at him, in the throes of another fit, when she had seen him appear on the doorstep. Armed with a kitchen knife, she lunged at him. Unable to hit him, he then, in a fit of madness, also tried to incite their dog to attack him. Just before the man managed to escape her fury by running away from home, she finally tried to hold him back with a blow of a cleaver, fortunately missing. Not satisfied, she then continued to torment him with phone calls and messages ordering him to return and threatening to take away their dog. This time, however, the companion did not take pity and decided to turn to the agents of the Tuscolano Police Station, telling them all the humiliations he had suffered over the years.
On the basis of the complaint and subsequent investigations by the police officers of the Tuscolano and Frascati Police Stations, the Judicial Authority has ordered for the 35-year-old Roman woman, accused of the crime of mistreatment in the family, the precautionary measure of the prohibition of approaching the injured party at a distance of less than 500 meters, with the application, with her prior consent, of the electronic bracelet.
