Pomezia and Ardea: State Police Blitz. Weapons and pyrotechnic material with high explosive capacity seized

At dawn on the morning of 28st January, in the municipalities of Pomezia e Ardea, the State Police blitz aimed at implementing the order of the Ordinary Court of Rome - Preventive Measures Section with which the seizure, for the purposes of the confiscation, of all assets directly or indirectly attributable to a 40 years old from Rome, a leading member of a criminal association operating in the drug trafficking.

In carrying out the enforcement activity, which ended with the material seizure of movable and immovable property and precious objects for a total value of approximately 3 million euros, in one of the houses linked to the suspect, a large quantity of pyrotechnic material, consisting of over 150 high explosive capacity firecrackers, single-shot batteries and multiple artisanal devices of the “onion” type, illegally detained because entirely attributable to categories of explosives the possession of which is subject to specific authorization.

For this reason, the 40-year-old was reported to the competent Judicial Authority.

The continuation of the activity then allowed us to ascertain how the recipient of the preventive measure, in almost all of the properties subsequently seized, held air pistols and rifles, some of which are designed for immediate use, and related ammunition in steel marbles.

All the material found, including a total of 8 pistols and 1 rifle, was therefore acquired by the police and investigations are underway to verify any alterations.
