Ostia: they steal a bag and a backpack and flee. Two pickpockets aged 44 and 33 were arrested.

The State Police officers of the 10th District “Lido di Roma”, together with the Flying Squad of the Rome Police Headquarters, two men were arrested, of South American origins, aged 44 and 33, because seriously suspected of the crimes of theft, injury and resistance to a public official.

Specifically, the officers, while traveling along Via Lucio Coilio, noticed a group of 5 people, all of South American origin, who were they were approaching from behind a woman who was sitting at a restaurant table together with your family. The policemen stood in wait without arousing any suspicion, waiting to understand their real intentions. Suddenly, the 5 fled with a woman's bag and a backpack in their hands and, after getting into a car, they drove away.

The officers followed them, thus giving rise to a daring chase which ended shortly after in Corso Duca di Genova where they finally managed to cut off the fugitives' path, preventing them from continuing their mad escape. The 5 got out of the car and walked away again but two of them were caught and, with considerable difficulty and after a struggle, they were blocked.

The two, a 44-year-old from Peru and a 33-year-old from Cuba, were found in possession of various personal effects, including a debit card, a credit card, personal documents and 100 euros in cash, which they were returned, at the time of the complaint, to those entitled to them who recognized their ownership.

The two, after the ritual activities, were arrested because they were seriously suspected of the crimes of theft, injury and resistance to a public official.

The arrests, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, were validated by the Judicial Authority.
