For over a year, he allegedly transformed the daily lives of his neighbors into a nightmare, sowing fear and tension within a condominium on the outskirts of Rome. The arrest is the result of a long and complex investigative activity conducted by the agents of the III Fidene-Serpentara District, who reconstructed a series of threatening and violent behaviors carried out by the man against the residents of the building.

An escalation of threats and intimidation

According to what emerged from the investigations, the affair would have developed in a apparently ordinary living context, where over time the presence of the 43-year-old would have significantly compromised the serenity of the condominium owners. The man would have carried out repeated threats, verbal aggression, damage and obsessive behavior, with increasing intensity, such as to generate a climate of constant alarm and fear.

On several occasions, according to the investigators' reconstruction, the suspect would have prowled through the condominium stairwell armed with a hammer, hitting the doors of the houses and making death threats towards residents. A behavior that would have reached such levels as to force a woman to abandon her home, owned by him, in an attempt to escape a situation that had become unsustainable.

The complaints and the reconstructed circumstantial evidence

The circumstantial evidence against the man is based on numerous complaints filed by condominium owners, On concordant statements from multiple witnesses, as well as on the repeated interventions of the police forces over the months. The investigators have also collected and crystallized over time a series of elements that have allowed them to outline a structured and continuous persecutory conduct.

What would have made the suspect's position even more serious would have been his aggressive nature, combined with the presence of criminal record, including crimes related to tax evasion. All elements which, according to the investigators, would have highlighted a social danger constantly increasing.

Pretrial detention in prison

In light of the investigative findings, the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office – Department of Widespread and Serious Crime requested the application of a precautionary measure. The Judge for preliminary investigations has therefore ordered the 43 year old to pre-trial detention in prison, considering that the precautionary requirements exist.

The order was executed by the same officers of the III Fidene-Serpentara District, who arrested the man and took him associated with a penal institution, where it will remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
