Lariano (Rome), theft and attempted robbery. 38-year-old woman arrested by the Carabinieri
In recent days, The Carabinieri of the Lariano Station have executed an order that orders the precautionary custody in prison of a 38-year-old Italian woman, seriously suspected of the crimes of theft, attempted robbery, receiving stolen goods, material forgery and improper use of payment instruments.
The measure, issued by the GIP of the Velletri Court at the request of the local Prosecutor's Office, originates from the meticulous investigative activity of the military of the Arma which allowed them to collect numerous clues against the woman. In particular, The investigations have brought to light the modus operandi of the 38-year-old who is seriously suspected of having gained the trust of the victims, almost always vulnerable, such as the elderly, pregnant women, by reporting that she was a nurse, very ill and asking to be accompanied to a pharmacy or other commercial establishment and then robbed them, taking advantage of moments of distraction once on board the car.. What has emerged so far has allowed the Carabinieri to ascertain 12 episodes of theft and one attempted robbery committed since last July in the municipalities of Lariano, Valmontone, Bellegra, Artena and San Cesareo.
Among the victims of the theft there is also a doctor – with medical practice in Rome – from which, in May 2024, a prescription pad and personal stamp were stolen, which the woman used, together with stolen money and credit cards, to purchase large quantities of drugs containing opiates.
Furthermore, following the house search carried out during the execution, The Carabinieri found 14 counterfeit medical prescriptions and 210 opiate tablets (subject to medical prescription) therefore the woman was also reported for the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing provided for by the legislation on narcotics.
The arrested woman was then transferred to the Rebibbia prison in pre-trial detention.
