Rome: Campaign against New Year's Eve fireworks to protect animals begins.

“Firecrackers scare him a lot. He celebrates New Year’s Eve without firecrackers.” This is the message of the campaign promoted by theDepartment of the Environment of Rome Capital to explain the harmful effects that the noise of firecrackers can have on animals. The initiative invites Roman citizens to celebrate the arrival of the new year in a more respectful of the environment and safety.

The campaign will be visible Citywide starting today and until the end of the Christmas holidays.

«This is a campaign that we strongly wanted., while waiting for the ban on using loud firecrackers in the city during any type of celebration to become structural and no longer just an emergency", declares the Councilor for Agriculture, Environment and Waste Management of Rome Capital, Sabrina Alfonsi.

The devastating effects of firecrackers
"It is an important and deeply felt theme for Roman men and women, which we are making our own with this campaign. We wanted to use images representing the pets present in many of our families, but we must not forget that firecrackers can have adverse effects. devastating not only on the wildlife of our city, but also, and unfortunately often, on the same safety of people.

For this reason, the invitation is not to celebrate with loud or dangerous firecrackers. To party, many colored and silent lights can be enough, however beautiful and above all respectful of safety, the environment and our animal friends", concludes Alfonsi.

A campaign that combines the protection of animals and nature with a message of collective responsibility, waiting for a more conscious and sustainable future for all.
