Rome, 5 million for cultural events in the suburbs with “OPEN25 – ARTES ET IUBILAEUM”.
A broader and more inclusive cultural offering that increases the attractiveness of peripheral spaces as places of knowledge and cultural production. This is the objective of “OPEN25 – ARTES ET IUBILAEUM”, the Public Notice through which Roma Capitale, using funds under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, is making available 5 million euros to promote a program of events spread across the occasion of the Jubilee 2025.
The Notice, promoted by the Department of Culture of Rome Capital and prepared by the Department of Cultural Activities, is financed by the European Union Next Generation EU within the PNRR, and is included among the interventions "The Jubilee of Pilgrims: artistic and cultural events in the city of Rome, from the center to the outskirts, in order to promote tourist use during the Jubilee period" (PNRR – M1C3-Inv.4.3 Caput Mundi. Next Generation EU for large tourism events).
In the Jubilee Year, the measure aims to define new cultural axes between the periphery and the center, giving impetus to an inclusive, transversal and sustainable offer in the period between April 1 and December 31, 2025.
A schedule of initiatives that promote new opportunities for aggregation in spaces of the city far from traditional circuits, increasing their attractiveness and promoting processes of inclusion and social cohesion also through the use of fair and inclusive language (among the new elements of this call). Great importance will also be given to all those projects capable of guaranteeing intercultural exchange, activating participatory paths that break down marginalisation factors for better accessibility to cultural sites and the reduction of environmental and social pressures.
Another innovative element of this Public Notice is that the proposals presented must guarantee the principle of equality in all its expressions, promote gender equality and be against all forms of violence and discrimination, according to the democratic values enshrined in our Constitution.
“OPEN25 – ARTES ET IUBILAEUM” is structured into five sections:
