Rome, joint operation in Magliana: 2 arrests, drug seizures, and evictions from illegal settlements.

È taken to the Magliana, A new joint security operation coordinated by the manager of theXI District San Paolo. With the spotlight on the illegal settlements on the Tiber riverbed, State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Local Police and operators of theLOVES have focused their attention on the areas reported for degradation and illegal occupation.

Particular attention was paid to the former building “Miralance”, in the vicinity of which are two arrests made.

First arrest: A 37enne Romanian, subjected to control, was found to be the recipient of a detention order for violations of the law on illegal immigration. He was transferred to Rebibbia prison.

Second arrest: A 30enne Foggia native, noted for his suspicious behavior, was found with 90 grams of cocaine and an kit for packaging doses in the backpack. The house search led to the kidnapping of others 110 grams of cocaine and additional material for the dosage. Arrested for detention for the purposes of trafficking, the arrest was validated by the Court of Piazzale Clodio.

At the same time, the activity also concerned the restoration of urban decorum:

• 13 of the 70 people identified they have been reported for illegal occupation of ANAS land

• The company was commissioned to proceed with the restoration of fences and the reclamation of the area.

• Thanks to 'LOVES, household goods, waste materials and illegal obstructions were removed.

• La Social Operations Room initiated a census of vulnerable subjects, proposing solutions of welcome and assistance.

The operation, which follows other interventions in the same urban area in recent weeks, is part of a territorial control strategy aimed at restoration of legality and the redevelopment of degraded areas, with an integrated approach on safety, urban decorum and social assistance.
