What caught the investigators' attention was the suspicious comings and goings of a dark-colored SUV, driven by the young man, inside an underground garage area of ​​a residential complex on Via Crisafulli.

After several hours of stakeout, the agents crystallized the functioning of the system he had developed to conceal and move the drugs. The man was shuttling between the garage and two cars and, only after having fiddled around the cockpits of the same vehicles, he decided to get behind the wheel and then return shortly after.

Once the mechanism was revealed, the police swung into action, catching him red-handed while he was transferring some "loaves" from one car to another.

The subsequent vehicle search confirmed what had been reconstructed, leading to the seizure of approximately 70 kg of drugs.

In the two “vault” furniture, modified in such a way as to create a mechanical double bottom under the rear seats, the agents found respectively 13 kg of cocaine and approximately 14 kg of hashish, divided into more than 140 blocks, in addition to approximately 35 thousand euros in cash, divided into banknotes of different denominations.

Another 42 kg of cocaine were later found inside a bag kept in the garage.

During the search, Several counterfeit identity documents were also seized, registered to fictitious individuals, probably used to evade checks and continue his illicit activities undisturbed.

The young man, A thirty-year-old Roman man was arrested on serious suspicion of the crimes of possession with intent to sell narcotics and possession and fabrication of false identification documents and was taken to Regina Coeli prison. The Prosecutor's Office then requested and obtained from the Preliminary Investigations Judge the validation of the arrest and the application of the precautionary custody in prison.
