Mandated entrances, perimeter fencing and widespread checks in internal areas: this is the scenario that unfolded since 8:00 yesterday morning al Esquiline Market, the scene of a vast joint operation coordinated by the Police Headquarters.
The following took part in the activity: State Police, Arms of the Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Harbor Master's Office – Coast Guard, Local Police, ASL e labor Inspectorate, in a device also planned following thematic meetings held in the previous weeks, with the involvement of Municipality (Select).
The operational protocol adopted has overcome the model of controls entrusted to individual Corps, aiming at a integrated strategy based on sharing of skills.
Each entity operated according to its own functional specificity, contributing to a coordinated and widespread action.
To the patrols deployed along the urban perimeter the belting of the road axes was entrusted, with systematic checks on people and vehicles in transit.

The irregularities found
The checks have brought to light numerous violations. In detail:

Seizure and destruction of approximately 1.300 kg of fish products non-compliant with traceability and consumer information regulations

Four sanctions for irregularities in theoccupation of public land, contested by the Local Police
Identification, immigration and road checks
During the operation they were identified over 100 people. Seven subjects they were accompanied to theImmigration office and, at the end of the investigations, three non-EU citizens were found to be recipients of expulsion measures.
The following were also subjected to verification: commercial vehicles used by market operators: they have been contested two violations of the Highway Code.

The operation is part of a complex strategy to raise safety standards of the Esquilino area, which has already been underway for months.
An operating model that integrates public order, economic legality and urban decorum, enhancing the contribution of all the entities involved to concretely improve the livability of the area.
