Reggio Emilia: Operation “Ten”. Blitz by the State Police and the Guardia di Finanza against the 'Ndrangheta

Since the early hours of the morning, the military of the Guardia di Finanza di Reggio Emilia, together with the Flying Squad of the Reggio Emilia Police Headquarters, with the assistance of the Central Operations Service and the Flying Squad of Bologna and Crotone, are executing 19 searches in the provinces of Reggio Emilia, Parma, Crotone, in the context of which they will be performed 5 Personal Precautionary Measures in Prison for the crime under art. 416 bis of the Criminal Code and others.

The restrictive measures were issued by the GIP at the Court of Bologna Dr. Alberto Ziroldi, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Bologna – District Anti-Mafia Directorate, based on the results of a long and complex investigation, called “Have”, coordinated by the Deputy Public Prosecutor Dr. Beatrice Ronchi, against certain exponents of the mafia association of type 'ndrangheta operating in Emilia Romagna and having as its epicenter the city of Reggio Emilia.

The investigative insights have allowed us to confirm the existence and operation, within the framework of the Emilian 'ndrangheta gang, from the mafia group Saudi, a partnership characterised by a broad availability of weapons and dedicated to extortions, scams, As well as to stolen of goods proceeds from thefts from transport companies, committed in order to facilitate the activities of the mafia association.

Further investigative insights, carried out with the help of the Guardia di Finanza di Reggio Emilia, have allowed us to reconstruct numerous tax fraud, confirming, once again, how the 'ndrangheta gang operating in Emilia also specializes in issuing invoices for non-existent transactions.

The fraudulent mechanism implemented by the suspects through theissue of invoices for non-existent operations for a total of €1.802.930,93, in particular against 12 main user companies, has brought the criminal gang a profit in just a few years earnings equal to €326.435,07 what price of the crime, sum object of preventive seizure ordered by the GIP with the ordinance and carried out jointly by the Guardia di Finanza and the State Police.
