A family quarrel ended in tragedy

The investigations, coordinated by Public Prosecutor's Office of Locri (RC) — directed by Dr. Giuseppe Casciaro — and from the Public Prosecutor's Office for Minors of Reggio Calabria — directed by Dr. Roberto Placido Di Palma, supported by video surveillance systems and the statements of the eldest son, have allowed us to reconstruct what happened.

From the early stages, the investigative activity proved to be complex, but decisive. The crime scene presented anomalous elements that aroused the suspicion of the investigators from the first intervention.

Il delay in requesting assistance – which occurred only the day after the crime – was an initial alarm bell, leading to a thorough inspection by the Carabinieri at the victim's home.

The investigations made use of technological tools, including theanalysis of video surveillance systems present in the area, who contributed significantly to clarifying part of the dynamics of the facts.

These have been supplemented by the statements made by the eldest son, who spontaneously showed up at the police station accompanied by his lawyers. During the interrogation, the young man also indicated the place where they had disposed of the murder weapon.

The discovery of the victim's weapon and car, obtained thanks to intense and methodical searches, has consolidated the accusatory framework and allowed the initiation of ballistic and technical investigations that will be essential to accurately reconstruct the events.

Crucial Findings: Weapon and Car Seized

THEmurder weapon a Calabrian 38 drum pistol without serial number, was found in an isolated area of ​​the municipality of ardor (RC), inside a bag also containing cartridge cases and ammunition, all of the same caliber. These materials were seized for the necessary technical analysis.

Furthermore, the 18st January, it was Father's car recovered, hidden in a remote area of ​​the countryside of Bovalino (RC).

Both findings were subjected to in-depth investigations by specialized personnel of the SIS of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Reggio Calabria and RIS of Messina, in order to gather further evidence.

Investigators are carefully examining the family relationships and personal backgrounds of those involved to reconstruct the motive and dynamics that led to the tragic epilogue.

The two arrested brothers are currently at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
