Montebello Jonico: a man arrested thanks to Youpol for possession of clandestine weapons, ammunition and narcotics

The activity of the Reggio Calabria State Police, carried out with the help of a drug-detection canine unit from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, was started thanks to a report forwarded via the application of the State Police "Youpol", which started several house and local searches carried out in the territory of Montebello Jonico.

The Reggio Calabria State Police arrested a man originally from Montebello Ionico in flagrante delicto for the crime of possession of clandestine weapons, ammunition and narcotics. In particular, inside the house of the arrested person, the police officers of the Condofuri Police Station have a revolver with the serial number erased and a heat-sealed package containing 40g of narcotic substance were found and seized which, subjected to a drug test by the staff of the Regional Scientific Police Office of Reggio Calabria, turned out to be marijuana. In the same house it was A plastic bag containing 61 pistol cartridges of various calibers was also seized.

As a precautionary measure, the Judicial Authority ordered that the man be subjected to the measure of custody in prison.

The Youpol application, downloadable from Apple Store and Google Play, created to report mainly episodes of domestic violence, drug dealing and bullying, allows citizens to interact quickly and easily with the State Police, sending videos, images, audio and texts, even anonymously.
