Ravenna: Robber arrested in station by State Police thanks to the use of taser
Late Saturday evening 15 February, State Police Flying Squad they intervened at the railway station following the help request of a 42 year old Moroccan citizen, victim of a robbery.
Three non-EU citizens had attacked him with kicks and punches, taking away his scooter and fleeing inside the railway yard.
The officers, who were already carrying out checks in the area, within a few minutes identified one of the three perpetrators in the station underpass, still in possession of the stolen vehicle.
The victim, accompanied by the police, recognized the perpetrator of the robbery, thus allowing the recovery of the stolen goods.
At the time of arrest, the person stopped, Egyptian citizen in evident state of alcoholic alteration, has opposed a violent resistance, refusing to cooperate, struggling and kicking the squad car and the officers.
Despite attempts at mediation, his aggressive behavior made it necessary to employ the taser to immobilize him safely.
The man was taken to the hospital for tests and discharged after a few hours without any health problems.
In light of the seriousness of the crime and the dangerousness demonstrated, the alleged robber was arrested and taken to prison, where it remains at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
At the same time, the Anti-Crime Division started an immediate investigation which, also in consideration of the specific prejudices, concluded with the issuing of a ban on returning to the Municipality of Ravenna by the Quaestor, Dr. Lucio Pennella.
