Ravenna: at the Montecatini International Short Film Festival the short film “Ritratto di Biscotti Bizantini” was awarded

The short “Portrait of Byzantine Biscuits”By the director Matthew Saragoni has obtained an important recognition at the11th Montecatini International Short Film Festival (Misff), which took place from the 4 10 November. The video was awarded in the Bio & Arts section, edited by Laura Villani, dedicated to the biographies of artists and important personalities, particularly in the context of Italian excellence where the Ravenna project participated in the category Food Design.

This section of the festival highlighted works that tell meaningful life stories, including those of artists and entrepreneurs who have left a mark in their field. The short, directed by the young director Matteo Saragoni, at his first participation, with the help of filming Julius Salotti, tells a story linked to the family tradition and culture that is today passed down by the Biscotti Bizantini project thanks to Jacopo Randi Passersby e Lorenzo Sirotti. The recognition was born thanks to its artistic quality and the ability to enhance the history and places of art of the city of Ravenna thanks also to the support of the Municipality of Ravenna, Tourism Service, Classense Library, Academy of Fine Arts, Opera di Religione of the Diocese of Ravenna and MAR Art Museum of the city.

The 2024 edition of the festival has transformed Montecatini into an international reference point, welcoming producers, authors, directors and actors from all over the world. More than 100 short films from 50 countries participated in the competition, with a work of great value by the international jury. In addition to the short films in competition, numerous films were screened in the non-competitive sections, including works by debutants from film schools.
