Lugo: Widespread checks of the territory, one arrest and one complaint

The Carabinieri of Lugo, as part of the service of control of the territory, they arrested a man and shortly after reported a motorist to the Judicial Authorities. In this specific service they were used in the evening/night time slot six patrols that carried out "carpet checks" of the main communication routes and the most isolated hamlets of Lugo. They have been identified 75 people and checked 40 vehicles, while 20 requests for emergency intervention were received in a few hours at the emergency number 112 which the military personnel deployed throughout the territory managed, providing the appropriate and necessary support and assistance.

During the control activities, in particular, the military personnel of the Lugo Operational and Radiomobile Unit noticed a 40 year old man, already known for some of his criminal history, who was wandering around the outskirts of the city of Lugo, without any apparent reason. After carrying out a more detailed check, the Carabinieri ascertained that the aforementioned, despite being banned from approaching his ex-partner due to previous mistreatment of the woman, he went to her home and asked to come in.

He was then taken to the barracks and arrested as required by the legislation established in the context of the well-known “red code”. This morning, the Judge of the Court of Ravenna validated the arrest and applied the man to preventive detention in prison and he was then sent to the Ravenna prison.

The checks carried out by the Carabinieri of Lugo also allowed us to to stop a foreigner who, while driving his vehicle, was driving at an irregular pace. Identified, it turned out without a driving licence which had been withdrawn in the past and, when subjected to a breathalyser test, his blood alcohol level was found to be over the maximum permitted limit. It was then fined and reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Ravenna for driving under the influence of alcohol.
