Mezzano: Carabinieri arrest 25-year-old for drug dealing and illegal possession of explosive material

Narcotic substance of different types already divided into doses, ready for marketing, material for packaging/fractionation of the drug, precision scales and a sum of cash for an amount of 900,00 euros proceeds from illicit drug dealing activities. This is what was found in recent days by the Carabinieri of Mezzano, engaged daily in the field of controls for the prevention and repression of drug-related crimes.

Thanks to the development of targeted investigations and knowledge of the territory, the military had had an inkling that a 25 year old local could possess narcotic substances in his home, intended to be released on the local market. Targeted operations were carried out by the Carabinieri of Mezzano, culminating in the raid on an apartment in the city centre, with search of the premises.

The investigative leads were confirmed when, during the investigation and house search, they were found in the man's possession narcotics and packaging material, in addition to money. By order of the public prosecutor on duty at the Ravenna Public Prosecutor's Office, the man, who will also have to answer for illegal possession of firecrackers commonly known as “onion”, was subjected to the arrest at his home awaiting the summary trial which was held yesterday morning and during which the Judge has the arrest was validated and in the circumstance the man agreed to a sentence of 6 months imprisonment.

The specific control action is to be considered as a continuation of all those initiatives that the Carabinieri of the Ravenna Company have undertaken for some time for the fight against drug dealing.
