An inter-force service took place on the evening of October 25th control of the territory ordered by the Police Chief of Lecce and carried out by personnel of the State Police, the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza and the Local Police.

The service, aimed at combating drug trafficking, crimes against persons and property, illegal trade and irregular immigration, it concerned the area of ​​the railway station and surrounding streets, as well as the area of ​​the historic centre and Piazza Mazzini.
Observation checks were carried out in the station area and surrounding streets for the prevention and repression of phenomena such as illegal taxi services and illegal parking attendants, which led to the fines of two illegal parking attendants, with seizure of the related proceeds, in Viale Gallipoli, at the Land Registry Office and in Via Adua, as well as to the fine and withdrawal of the vehicle registration document of a person who carried out a rental service with driver without authorization in Via di Ussano.
Subsequently, several commercial establishments were checked in the station area, Porta San Biagio area and the historic centre area.

In particular, in Viale Lo Re, Via Paladini and Piazzetta Vittorio Emanuele II they were controlled by the Local Police 17 premises, of which 10 were fined for occupation of public land without authorization and display of trolleys outside of permitted hours, for a total of 13 reports (over 1.900 euros total).
Also in the Piazza Mazzini area, the Local Police checked a bar inside the Galleria Mazzini and fined it for violating the Anti-Movida Regulations for having organised an event with an unauthorised DJ set, and in Viale dell'Università an ethnic venue was fined for selling alcoholic drinks in glass bottles after 22pm.
In via Duca degli Abruzzi and in via Don Bosco 3 minimarkets were checked by the Carabinieri operators and over 35 kg of fish products and 15 litres of oil were seized by the NAS and a high administrative fine of 1.500 euros was imposed for selling products without a label and documentation relating to traceability.

In the Porta San Biagio area the State Police with personnel from theASL inspected 3 premises and issued fines for various violations including failure to display mandatory signs, failure to have a license to sell alcohol and failure to comply with health regulations for a total of over 3.300 euros.

Guardia di Finanza personnel carried out checks in the railway station area where they reported ex art. 75 dpr 309/90 two foreign subjects because they were found in possession of 4.30 and 4.80 grams of hashish respectively. In the city centre they carried out checks on people on foot. 0.50 grams of opium and 1 gram of heroin were seized from unknown persons, found by the dog of the Canine Unit inside a duct in a wall.

The personnel of the State Police - Crime Prevention Unit carried out checkpoints following which 208 people were identified and 30 vehicles were checked.

A total of 25 commercial establishments were inspected during the extraordinary service, 15 of which were subject to administrative sanctions.
