Pesaro, celebrated World Poetry Day with the initiative “Bread and Roses” involving 1000 students.

«A day that teaches and reminds us the value of freedom – in particular that of expression that we can exercise through poetry – today endangered by conflicts that are devastating the world", thus the mayor Andrea Biancani and the councilor for educational policies Camilla Murgia addressed the 1000 students present at the event “Bread and Roses”, which took place this morning in Piazza del Popolo and Palazzo Gradari on the occasion of the World Poetry Day, celebrated every 21 March.

«Thanks to the school principals, the teachers but above all to you boys and girls for this truly heartfelt, creative and engaging participation – added Biancani and Murgia –. Yours is a beautiful way of creating culture; an action that, as a municipal administration, we try to carry out constantly and in a 360° manner for spread above all the culture of Peace and inclusion, against indifference and for the respect for diversity and freedom of expression. It is a heritage of great value that we have and that we must hold on to."

"The 2025 edition has been divided into 3; a number that symbolizes both the orders and grades of the schools involved, and the "stages" that have marked this ninth edition; increasingly attended, increasingly beautiful", Murgia underlined.

Le first two stages took place on 6 March, With the 'meeting with the young poets Diego Pulzoni and Serena Lombardo in the “Adele Bei” hall of the Province, and the 14 March, having a show lesson in the Sala della Repubblica of the Rossini Theatre, dedicated to the desemanticised sound of the Divine Comedy, performed by musicians Gabriel De Pace and Damiano Ferretti, under the guidance of Maestro Paolo Marzocchi and the direction of Maestro Ivan Gambini.
