The Supreme Court of Cassation upholds the life sentences for Tripodi and Candiloro in the mafia-related murder of Marcello Bruzzese in Pesaro.

La Corte suprema di cassazione, on the day of September 12th, Has fully confirmed the sentence issued by the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Ancona, making the life sentence is definitive di Michelangelo Tripodi e Francesco Candiloro for the murder of Marcello Bruzzese, brother of the justice collaborator Girolamo Biagio Bruzzese, which occurred in Pesaro on Christmas Eve 2018.

The Supreme Court has thus put an end to this on the criminal liability of the material perpetrators of the crime, recognizing the mafia origins of the ambush, matured as transversal act of revenge against the collaborator of justice. The investigations, conducted by District Anti-Mafia Directorate of the Ancona Public Prosecutor's Office with the coordination of the National Anti-Mafia and Counter-Terrorism Directorate, they allowed fully reconstruct the serious criminal episode.

The responsibility of the defendants had already been confirmed by the preliminary hearing judge of the Ancona Court at the outcome of abbreviated judgment, and subsequently confirmed by the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Ancona, before which the reasons of the prosecution were supported by the General power of attorney.

At the conclusion of this complex legal matter, which has profoundly affected the community of Pesaro, the most sincere thanks must be expressed. High appreciation to the Carabinieri of the Special Operations Group (ROS) of Ancona, who supported the activity of the Prosecutor's Office with investigations of extraordinary difficulty, distinguished by professionalism, dedication and timeliness in identifying the perpetrators of such a heinous crime.
