As part of the Judicial Police activity carried out by personnel of the Secretariat of the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, two Italian citizens, identified as responsible, were referred to the Judicial Authority, following investigations resulting from two complaints filed with these offices. of crimes against property.

In fact, on Friday 5 April an Italian citizen, with a permanent disability and in clear personal difficulty, reported the improper use of his credit card. By verifying the card statement, staff from the complaints office carried out checks at the business where the illicit transactions had been carried out, acquiring surveillance images of the premises. Viewing the footage made it possible to identify the person responsible for the crime, a 40-year-old Italian citizen, already reported for other recent criminal events. Flying Squad personnel tracked him down and confronted the man with evidence of the facts admitted to having stolen the bank card of the partner with whom he shares the accommodation to buy scratch cards with the hope of using the money from the winnings to buy narcotics, being also a drug addict.
For these facts, the man was released into a state of freedom for the crime of theft with dexterity and improper use of a credit card.

Once the complaint was filed, UPGSP personnel acquired images of the supermarket which immortalized theact of theft by a man who, with a sudden move, hid the wallet in the helmet of the motorbike, after having also paid at the same automatic pay station as the unfortunate lady.
The frames acquired and disseminated to the staff on duty at the police station allowed an employee, free from duty, who had gone shopping in the same supermarket on 8 April 2024, to locate one with the same characteristics parked in the car park, near the motorcycle used by the thief. Having waited for the driver's arrival, at the sight of him, thanks to the descriptions taken from the videos, which perfectly matched those of the man who was about to drive, he was stopped, being assisted on site by a crew of the flying squad , pre-warned.
The man, a 50-year-old Italian citizen with police prejudices, at first he denied any wrongdoing regarding the facts alleged against him, but the investigative findings could only lead him to admit and confess. The man was referred to the Judicial Authority for the crime of aggravated theft.
Unfortunately, the wallet was no longer recoverable as the person in charge had thrown it into a bin, but the joy of the woman remained who incidentally at the police station, for the issue of a duplicate of the driving licence, found herself witness to the activity carried out, thanking the policemen.
