Palermo: Theft foiled by convalescing Carabiniere, 40-year-old reported

The Carabinieri of the Palermo Radiomobile Unit have a 40-year-old local man, already known to the police, was reported at large for aggravated theft.

The robbery was foiled by a recovering Carabiniere for work reasons who, at the beginning of October, had suffered injuries during an arrest for resisting arrest. The soldier while he was in a pizzeria near via Pitrè, he noticed the alleged thief in action; the pickpocket in fact, with a lightning-fast move, he had managed to steal a wallet contained inside a bag placed on a chair in the premises. The soldier, therefore, having realised the dynamics of the facts, did not think twice, and He immediately intervened and stopped the criminal who, after having carried out the theft, tried to walk away undisturbed.

Once the Carabiniere had stopped the 40-year-old, he notified the operations centre and waited for the arrival of his colleagues to whom he handed over the suspect. The stolen goods were recovered and returned to the owner.
