Palermo: State Police welcomes a group of foreign citizens to visit the Police Headquarters
The State Police welcomes young foreign refugees or applicants for international protection. Yesterday afternoon, a large group, coming from Agrigento, consisting of approximately 70 people including operators and foreigners, visited the Palermo Police Headquarters, in particular the Museum of Memory, hosted in the S.Elisabetta premises adjacent to the headquarters of the Flying Squad.
The meeting comes on the occasion of a visit to the capital of Palermo and took place at the culmination of a series of visits by monuments of historical and architectural value of the city, an artistic example of fruitful cultural stratifications that have made Palermo a perhaps unique melting pot of styles and influences, as well as an example of hospitality.
The path of cultural integration in our country can only pass through legality and be accomplished in the name of the many "normal heroes" who, with the uniform of the State Police, they lost their lives, fighting against the oppression of the mafia.
They have left an indelible mark and their sacrifice is now inalienable heritage of our cultureSharing it is a way to tell ourselves, to open ourselves, ultimately to welcome.
This is why, by now, the Museum of Memory of the Palermo Police Headquarters, a real "Pantheon of the Righteous“, is one of the unmissable stops for anyone who wishes to learn about our history.
