A solidarity initiative organized at the "Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa" barracks to offer moments of sharing and support to those in difficulty, with the support of volunteers and associations.

Inside the barracks Carlo Alberto from the Church, Seat of the Carabinieri Legion Command “Sicily”, the solidarity lunch took place “The Best Weapon to Give a Smile at Christmas”, organized thanks to the precious contribution of volunteers from various associations and people with big hearts.
The aim of the event was to give a moment of sharing on the occasion of Holy Christmas to people in a state of poverty or with difficulty integration in the territory, celebrating the union between peoples and creating an opportunity for aggregation and joy.
An inclusive and supportive initiative
Also 'Arms of the Carabinieri has joined the initiative, opening the doors of the Legion Command headquarters. The Commanding, the Major General Giuseppe Spina, welcomed the participants, making the barracks premises available.
Among the main supporters of the event were an entrepreneur active in the restaurant sector, who offered the catering, and the association “Let's Think Positively”, who entertained the guests. Among them, in addition 40 children of different nationalities, accompanied by numerous volunteers who took care of the reception.
The roots of the initiative
The experience of solidarity began during the years of the pandemic from Covid-19, when the Parish of Sant'Espedito decided to organize a vaccination campaign within the church. Since then, numerous initiatives have been launched to support the last.
A network of volunteers made up of doctors, parishioners and professionals has created listening centres and projects in the field social-healthcare assistance.
