In this characteristic holiday and winter sports resort, the Carabinieri during their daily territorial control services have a 53 year old man from Gangi was reported at large because he was caught driving his car while under the influence of alcohol e, reported to the Prefecture of Palermo an 22 year old from Castella Sicula and a 27 year old coming from Palermo, caught in possession of cocaine and marijuana held for personal use. Two Carabinieri skiers also operated on the ski slopes, supported by a snowmobile from the force.
During the checks, which were also carried out along all the access roads to the Piano Battaglia area and on the ski plateau, a total of 469 people were identified and 109 vehicles were checked. Five driving licenses were withdrawn for serious violations, one vehicle was subjected to administrative seizure and finally administrative fines of approximately 2.400 euros were imposed. The seized narcotic substance was sent to the Narcotics Analysis Laboratory of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Palermo, for qualitative and quantitative analyses.
