Palermo: An arrest for drugs in Borgo Vecchio and a complaint for threatening a public official

I Carabinieri of the Operational Nucleus of the Company of Palermo Piazza Verdi together with the Palermo Villagrazia Dog Unit, constantly engaged in activities aimed at preventing and combating drug dealing, have 57 year old man from Palermo arrested already known to the police forces, for shop of narcotic substances.

In Borgo Vecchio neighborhood area via Ximenes, the military noticed some movements that caught their attention. The constant coming and going of boys and girls who, after entering the condominium, left after a few minutes, made them think that inside there was the presence of someone who was dealing drugs.

Hypothesis of the guardians of the law that was supported by two positive findings that allowed them to report to the Prefecture of Palermo two buyers found in possession of a dose of crack per capita.

With a trick, the Carabinieri managed to enter the building without being noticed and, on the first floor, inside the apartment used by the suspect who at the time was in the company of some family members, they noticed about ten doses of crack scattered on the kitchen table.

The next and meticulous one search by the military, made difficult by the presence of the 26-year-old son of the suspect who repeatedly hindered operations and threatened the officers which for this reason they reported him at liberty, allowed to find inside a can of Coca Cola with the bottom cut off, used as a container, other 200 doses of crack and inside some kitchen furniture and several jars, other doses of the same narcotic substance.

Altogether they were 100 grams of crack seized, divided into 446 doses, various packaging materials and the sum of 4.300 € presumably proceeds from drug dealing activities.

The money was recovered by the military, under a cushion of a kitchen chair on which the 57-year-old's daughter had been sitting, frightened, according to her, by the presence of the German shepherd "Ron".

The Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Palermo has validated the arrest and ordered the 57enne the measure of the house arrest with electronic bracelet.

The seized drugs were sent to the Narcotics Analysis Laboratory of the Provincial Command of Palermo for the routine checks.
