Casteldaccia (Palermo), drug dealing square dismantled. 5 Palermitans arrested

The Carabinieri of the Bagheria Company have executed a precautionary custody order, issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Termini Imerese, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, against 5 suspects (two recipients of house arrest and three of the obligation to report to the judicial police), Palermo residents, already known to the police, held responsible – in various capacities – for the production, trafficking and illicit possession of narcotic substances.

The investigation, carried out between October 2023 and February 2024, by the military of the Operational Unit, allowed to outline a serious circumstantial framework, substantially accepted by the precautionary measure, which highlighted the existence of an illicit and systematic activity of purchase, possession and sale of narcotic substances by the suspects, who would have used a small warehouse, called "casuzza", in Casteldaccia as a warehouse for the concealment and preparation of cocaine and crack.

The technical activity carried out by the military has allowed us to reconstruct in detail the modus operandi of the alleged dealers, local youths, just over twenty years old, who sourced the narcotic substance from the nearby towns of Bagheria and Palermo., specifying the individual roles played by the suspects in the management of the drug dealing area.

The investigation also highlighted how one of the suspects, in particular, was considered a reference figure in the criminal activity, a role shared with another young man who, although still a minor, was already perfectly skilled in running the drug dealing area and in adopting tactics aimed at evading controls of any kind.

The two, although not constantly present in the warehouse, with precise instructions to alleged drug dealers in their service, would have followed and maintained control of the system of sales to third parties or contacted for the purpose of resolving problems that arose during the purchase and sale of narcotic substances.
