“A Room of One’s Own” is a protected environment that can be used by both women who are victims of violence and their children who turn to the Carabinieri at the delicate moment of formalizing the complaint of violence and abuse.
The growing sensitivity of the issue is a clear sign of concrete openness towards the victims of gender violence, who are accompanied step by step on this path by the military personnel of the "Carabinieri Anti-Violence Network of Palermo" who have distinguished themselves for their particular personal and professional skills and who have the task of supporting their colleagues from the Carabinieri Stations of the Province of Palermo in the complex dialogue with the victims of gender-based crimes.
In addition to the headquarters of the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Palermo, the “rooms” are located at the Palermo Oreto Station, Monreale, Cefalù, Termini Imerese and Corleone and the creation of these spaces is a concrete invitation to bring to light the crimes of gender violence that can only be addressed and overcome through reporting.
