Palermo: assets worth around 800 thousand euros confiscated

The Court of Palermo has issued the irrevocable confiscation order regarding the assets listed below, with a total value of approximately 800.000 euros.

Palermo: assets worth around 800 thousand euros confiscated

The Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Palermo have executed a provision issued by the Court of Palermo - Preventive Measures Section, with which, following a ruling by the Court of Cassation in June of this year, the first degree confiscation issued in January 2023 to Cireco Peter born in Bolognetta (PA) on 10.02.1940 and died on 08.12.2020. Therefore, the large estate registered to the heirs but attributable to the deceased has definitively become part of the State's assets.

Cireco had been drawn into arrest in the operation called “Jafar” on charges of having been part of the Bolognetta mafia family, in particular for having provided useful information for the implementation of criminal activities in the area of competence by other associates, taking action to financially support the detained associates, urging the so-called "put in place”, reporting a first degree conviction to 9 years and 3 months of imprisonment.

The evidentiary framework collected during the patrimonial investigations, coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office, was able to demonstrate how the assets available, first to Cireco Pietro himself and subsequently to his heirs, were in reality the fruit of his illicit activities, thus allowing the Court of Palermo to issue the irrevocable confiscation order regarding the assets noted below, with a total value of approximately 800.000 €:

– amount equal to euro 5.750,00 of the construction company “MEDIBETON SRL IN LIQUIDAZIONE” located in Bolognetta (PA);

– share equal to80% of the following properties:

nr. 02 homes located in Bolognetta (PA);
nr. 01 building used as a shop located in Bolognetta (PA);
nr. 01 warehouse located in Bolognetta (PA);
nr. 01 garage located in Bolognetta (PA);
nr. 01 building under construction located in Bolognetta (PA);
nr. 01 flat roof located in Bolognetta (PA);
nr. 02 plots of land, including the properties present therein, located in Bolognetta (PA).
