Termini Imerese (Palermo), extraordinary control of the territory in the hinterland. One arrest for drug dealing

The Carabinieri of the Territorial Survey of Termini Imerese, in recent weeks have intensified the extraordinary services of territorial control throughout the hinterland of Termini Imerese, in order to increase the perception of security and the presence of the State in the citizens, which have also affected some schools.

The military personnel of the Trabia Station and the personnel of the Operational Intervention Company of the 12th Sicily Regiment, they arrested a 30-year-old local man for possession of narcotics with intent to deal and for resisting a public official.

The man driving an electric bicycle was checked by the Carabinieri due to his suspicious behaviour and, subjected to a personal and vehicle search, was found in possession of almost 50 grams of hashish, cleverly hidden inside the bike, already divided into doses and ready for retail sale.

The search activity extended also inside the boy's home, allowed to find a further 60 grams, in doses, as well as, a precision scale, various material for packaging the drug and the cash sum of 100,00 euros, the result of the activity of shop.

The Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Termini Imerese has validated the arrest and, for the suspect, ordered the precautionary measure of the obligation to report to the Judicial Police.

During the various services, the military personnel of the Palermo Operational Intervention Company, engaged in carrying out a road traffic control post in Termini Imerese, have a 17-year-old local boy was reported at liberty for resisting a public official, who, while driving a car, did not stop at the order given by the Carabinieri patrol.

The young man, having noticed the presence of the military, first slowed down the vehicle and then suddenly accelerated in order to evade the control, thus starting a chase through the streets of the town that seriously endangered the safety of people and the vehicle on the road.

The crazy ride ended in front of the minor's house when, reached by the Carabinieri, he confessed that he did not have a driving license because he had never obtained one.

During further checks carried out in Trabia, the Carabinieri of the Aliminusa Station, together with the personnel of the CIO of Palermo, reported in a state of freedom, a 32-year-old from Palermo, for driving under the influence of psychophysical alteration due to the use of narcotic substances - refusal to verify the state of psychophysical alteration.

The operating soldiers stopped a truck for an administrative check and during the verification of the circulation documents, they perceived a strong odor of narcotic substance coming from inside the passenger compartment, reason for which they decided to carry out a search.

The outcome of the operation allowed us to find, cleverly hidden inside the vehicle, a tin foil package of approximately 2 grams, containing hashish.

The refusal of the suspect, formally invited by the military, to undergo further medical checks to be carried out at the hospital in Termini Imerese, was the reason that led to the communication of the crime to the Termitana Prosecutor's Office.

Still within the scope of the same extraordinary control activity of the territory, the military, in order to combat the use of narcotic substances, reported three men, all originally from Termini Imerese, to the Prefecture of Palermo as drug users.

In the vicinity of some training institutes in the town of Termitana, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit and of the local Station supported by the personnel of the Palermo Villagrazia Dog Unit, found various artisanal cigarettes, already partially burned and several grams of hashish.

All the narcotic substances seized during the activities of the Carabinieri departments were sent to the Narcotics Analysis Laboratory of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Palermo, for qualitative and quantitative analyses.

The control activities will continue in the coming days and weeks, with the primary objective of preventing and combating widespread crime and the resulting urban decay that significantly impact real and perceived security by many citizens.
