Tuesday afternoon 4 March la State Police he proceeded, to Padova, All 'arrest in flagrante delicto of a 55 year old Italian, investigated for extortion shop assistant against a 54 year old woman, resident in Trento.

This is a person from Campania, still resident in Naples, with a criminal record for telephone scams, who committed a few hours earlier in Trento,extortion of a 54-year-old woman with the now consolidated extortionist modus operandi of the "fake accident/fake Carabiniere".

La Trento Flying Squad, immediately after the events, reported that the car used to reach the home of the injured party was a blue Lancia Y small car, registered to a rental company and that after the criminal event it had been noticed fleeing in the direction of Valsugana – Bassano del Grappa (VI), and subsequently entering the capital of Padua, driven by a man, about 170 cm tall, with beard.

Having learned this information, the officers of the Padua Flying Squad they arranged a targeted service that allowed them to identify the car in question while it was about to stop in that via Trieste. From it got out a man who was completely similar to the description, provided by the injured party immediately after the facts, of the perpetrator of the extortion.

The unknown man, constantly observed by the officers, after going to a supermarket in Piazza Mazzini in Padua, returned to Via Trieste, to a B&B, where he was tracked down by the police who, during the personal and house search, found - hidden on the shower head - a transparent freezer bag containing an electronic precision scale, a white envelope - bearing the name of the bank where the victim has a current account - with the sum of money inside cash of €3.350 delivered shortly before by the lady from Trentino to the criminal, a packet of white kitchen paper containing 2 gold earrings,
a ring with precious stones and 2 rings with engravings inside that made them certainly recognizable as those stolen from the victim.

The money and jewelry recovered, as well as their containers (plastic freezer bag and paper bag) were recognized as the victim's own and will be returned shortly.

The man was taken to the police station in Padua and arrested for the crime of extortion. At the end of the investigations he was then transferred to the local “Due Palazzi” prison, available to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Padua.
