As part of the prevention, surveillance and control of the territory carried out by the patrols of the Padua State Police, two crews from the Police Headquarters engaged in extraordinary service control of the territory in the railway station area, they intervened in the aforementioned railway station following a report, received in the Operations Room, of an attack on a television crew.
The officers, on site, together with personnel from the Railway Police, made contact with two operators of a national television network who reported that while they were carrying out a service in the parking area near the station, interviewing some young people, they were approached by three young men of foreign origins, probably of North African ethnicity who, believing they had been filmed by the two operators' cameras, first insulted them, then threatened them and one of them threw a piece of tubular taken from a bicycle at the television operator, hitting him on the elbow.
The search for the three young men began immediately. by the Police Headquarters device present at the station and after a couple of minutes the trio was identified, stopped by the police and taken to the office. He is a 17 year old, a Tunisian citizen, born in Italy, currently illegally residing in the country, already known to the police for his multiple criminal records and convictions for property crimes, including aggravated thefts and robberies committed also against peers, against the person, resisting a public official and in relation to narcotics and illegal possession of weapons; an 16 year old of Egyptian origin, entered Lampedusa in October 2023 with a previous conviction for possession of narcotics, holder of a residence permit for minors; an 19 year old Italian, resident in the province, with criminal and police records for the crimes of theft, robbery, threats and arson.
At the end of the investigations, the Police Chief of the province of Padua ordered the personal prevention measures of the DACUR and the Oral warnings with mandatory expulsion order from Padua for the three, placing the two unaccompanied minors in two communities in the province.
