Two women abused in Giugliano and Volla: Two arrests for domestic violence

In Giugliano in Campania, in the Varcaturo hamlet, the carabinieri of the local station intervened – alerted by 112 – in a house for a family argument. Shortly before, a 48-year-old had argued with his cohabiting partner. However, the argument degenerated and first he throws a tub of ice cream from the freezer on the woman's face and then hit her repeatedly with slaps and punches. The screams broke the silence of the area and someone asked for help for the 46-year-old by calling the police. The soldiers stopped the man and listened to the victim who had a large bruise on her right cheekbone.

For about a year the woman has been subjected to aggression and humiliation by that man. A climate of terror in that house never reported before. The woman was treated by the 118 personnel who intervened on the scene and then transferred to a protected facility where specialized people can take care of her. The 48-year-old was arrested and is facing charges of mistreatment in the family. In the same hours but in a completely different part of the province, similar and dramatic moments are taking place.

After an argument, he first slapped her twice and then picked her up and “threw” her into the closet, locking the door. He didn't want to release her because "she had to learn her lesson" but luckily the victim had his smartphone in his pocket and dialed 112. The carabinieri, arriving on the scene, reconstruct the incident. The closet door is opened and the man, a 30-year-old already known to the police, is arrested for mistreatment in the family and injuries.

The woman was transferred to Maresca hospital. For her, a prognosis that speaks of "contusive trauma to the orbital and mastoid region with contusive trauma to the lumbosacral region, pain in back flexion movements, reactive anxiety state". From tests the carabinieri found no complaints filed in the past by the woman. Two different places that are several kilometers apart but have one thing in common. Two women beaten and mistreated who had never reported before.
