San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, 14-year-olds damage a jewelry store's camera with an air pistol.
On March 17, the owner of a jewelry store from via Plinio in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio presented himself at the Carabinieri barracks to report the Damage to a surveillance camera positioned at the entrance of the shop.
The episode initially raised fears of a possible attempted theft or extortion, pushing the military to speed up the investigation and analyze the recordings from the cameras. The reality, however, turned out to be different: two 14 year olds with no criminal record, with their faces covered and on board a scooter, have hit the camera several times with an air gun, shooting 16 pallini.
The Carabinieri managed to identify those responsible and searched their homes, finding and seizing a spring-loaded pistol with a red cap, two magazines and 101 pelletsThe reasons for the gesture remain to be clarified, but the use irresponsible use of a weapon, even if it is compressed air, highlights the danger of the prank.
The two minors will now have to answer to the charges of damage.
