Grumo Nevano (Naples), robbers kidnap employees and customers of a bank. They had come from the sewers. 2 arrests by the Carabinieri

As part of the investigative activities directed by this Public Prosecutor's Office, the Carabinieri of the Caivano Company have executed an arrest warrant issued by this Prosecutor's Office against two people.

The suspects are considered to be seriously suspected of having perpetrated, dated July 19, 2024, together with other accomplices, an aggravated robbery with kidnapping at a banking institution in Grumo Nevano.
In particular, the aforementioned suspects – using the “hole” technique and accessing the sewer system – dug a passage underground and made a hole in the side wall of the Bank in the basement.

In this way, the same people - once introduced inside the Bank - blocked the office activities of the Bank for about two hours, kidnapping eleven employees and eight customers under the threat of weapons.
According to what has emerged from the investigations, the suspects allegedly stole 160 thousand euros in cash and the contents of almost all the safety deposit boxes.

During the investigation activities, it was possible to identify the individual who acted as a "lookout" who, in the months preceding the criminal event, had rented a commercial space located right next to the Bank, to ensure that the tunnel excavation work could be carried out without arousing suspicion.

The identity of the accomplices was discovered through the analysis of the contents of the cell phone of the person who acted as the "lookout", as well as through the analysis of images taken from the video surveillance system.

The suspects were transferred to prison, pending the holding of the validation hearing.
