The families of the victims of the collapse that occurred inside the Celeste sail in Scampia they will be hosted in two apartments inside a building in via Vittorio Emanuele III in Secondigliano, owned by the Municipality. The property is part of the assets confiscated from organized crime. Transferred from the National Agency to the Municipality of Naples, it has recently undergone a redevelopment project with a view to its use for social purposes. The Municipal Council, in this afternoon's session, decided to award it to the families who were hit hardest by the tragedy that occurred on the evening of July 22nd, also in consideration of the imminent discharge from hospital of two of the injured girls.
The temporary assignment of the two apartments in via Vittorio Emanuele III joins the other measures approved by the municipal administration to help families left homeless find a housing solution waiting for the construction of the accommodation for those who lived in the Celeste sail, according to the ReStart Scampia programme. In particular, the disbursement of a social contribution has been arranged and yesterday the material disbursement to the 205 eligible families began. Thanks to the measures approved by the Government to supplement what has already been provided by the Municipality of Naples, the Administration will also pay next year a contribution for independent accommodation, in the amount already established for the social contribution.
