Naples: Seven arrests for kidnapping and extortion aggravated by mafia methods.

The investigations, coordinated by the Neapolitan District Anti-Mafia Directorate and conducted by the Flying Squad with the assistance of the Scampia Police Station, they brought to light extortionate and particularly violent conduct, perpetrated by members of the criminal gang – currently dominant in the Scampia area – which is headed by theCifariello and Cancello families.

Specifically, top officials and associates of the aforementioned Camorra group, in order to take possession of a public housing property regularly available to a family from Scampia, they would have first attempted to intimidate the members of the family unit – even waiting for them under the building of residence armed with clubs – and, subsequently, the owner of the property was seized so that, as a form of ransom, his family members handed over the keys and the consequent availability of the house.

The victim, realizing that criminals were looking for him, even asking his family members about him, he would have reached a betting shop notoriously used as a meeting point by members of the gang, in order to ask for explanations on what was happening.

Having arrived on site with his son, the man, after being insulted by some of the recipients of today's measure, would have was threatened to vacate his apartment within an hour and was allegedly seized inside the betting shop while waiting for his son, who was left free to go and notify his family, to return and give them the keys to the house.
