Naples: Roadside checks concluded with arrests, fines and administrative detentions

Naples Local Police intensify checks to ensure road safety and prevent predatory crimes
The agents of the Central Investigation Department, the Chiaia Territorial Unit and the GIT (Territorial Intervention Group) – Motorcyclists They conducted a series of road control and crime prevention operations, extending the intervention to various areas of the city.

During the checks on the transport of goods, carried out by the GIT in collaboration with the General Directorate of Transport of the South, approximately twenty heavy vehicles were examined, with particular attention to compliance with the regulations on mandatory rest and the necessary documentation.

Among the violations found, failure to respect the daily rest period by truck drivers has emerged, including a Ukrainian driver of a Polish truck and a Romanian truck driver, both fined for irregularities, pursuant to Articles 174 and 100 of the Highway Code. In addition, a Portuguese carrier was sanctioned with an administrative detention of the vehicle for international transport without a valid license.

At the same time, in the Chiaia district, in Piazza Sannazaro, A total of 43 vehicles were checked. Of these, 2 were seized and 4 were subjected to administrative detention for various types of violations, including lack of insurance and lack of MOT.

In another road safety operation, the personnel of the Chiaia Operational Unit, in collaboration with the Nibbio of the State Police and with the Neapolitan Mobility Company (ANM), issued a total of 81 reports for violations which included illegal parking and lack of mandatory documentation. The activities were concentrated in the areas of Via San Carlo, Via Santa Brigida and Via Posillipo.

Finally, the IAES-Central Investigation Specialist Unit, engaged in checks for the prevention of predatory crimes in the Piazza Garibaldi area, stopped an individual in possession of counterfeit banknotes. The man was reported at large, while the money was seized by order of the magistrate on duty.
