Naples: Carabinieri Investigative Unit launches operation against Licciardi clan; 21 measures precautionary measures carried out.

On the night of December 2, 2025, Carabinieri of the Naples Investigative Unit they executed an order for the application of precautionary measures issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, at the request of District Anti-Mafia Directorate.

The measures concern 21 subjects, all seriously suspected of crimes committed in various capacities, including: mafia-type association (416 bis), extortions, improper access to communication devices by inmates, stolen, evasion, all aggravated by the mafia method and purposes.

Of these, 19 are recipients of the precautionary measure in prison (5 already detained for other reasons, including the alleged clan leader), while 2 were placed under house arrest.

The investigation: the Licciardi clan's operations and role in the Secondigliano Alliance

The complex investigative activities conducted by the 2022 al 2023 by the Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri of Naples and coordinated by DDA, have allowed to:

• document the continued operation of the Licciardi clan, one of the central groups of the historical Secondigliano alliance, Camorra cartel with influence over the northern part of Naples and the provincial area;

• to define the internal organizational chart and the roles covered by the alleged affiliates;

• gather feedback on a series of extortionate conduct to the detriment of traders, individuals involved in computer fraud (on whom the clan claimed part of the illicit proceeds) and even a woman who was illegally occupying a council house, forced - according to the documents - to pay 16.000 € to continue living there;

• to ascertain episodes in which the suspects would have recovered debts on behalf of third parties, leveraging the intimidating power of the organization. In some cases, the applicants were found to have no connection to organized crime.

At the same time as the execution of precautionary measures, the Carabinieri also carry out personal, home and premises searches against other suspects not subject to restrictive measures, within the scope of the same investigative activity.
