I Carabinieri of the NAS of Naples, during targeted services aimed at ensure consumer safety in the production and sale of cosmetic products, they have proceeded to control of a resale business located in the area of Vesuvian countries.
At the end of the inspection, the owner of the business was reported to the competent Judicial Authority, as it is held responsible for the distribution on the market of products containing prohibited substances and then dangerous to public health.
In particular, the NAS military found the presence, intended for sale, of various packages of semi-permanent gel containing the substance “trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide (TPO)”, banned by the European Union as carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic (toxic to reproduction).
This lack represents a serious danger to public health, both for consumers and for operators in the sector. Following the irregularity found, the Carabinieri proceeded to seizure of approximately 800 packages of the above articles, for a estimated commercial value of approximately 6.000 euros.
