Sesto San Giovanni: Criminal gang specializing in home burglaries and weapons possession busted

The Carabinieri of the Sesto San Giovanni Company, in the early hours of the morning of December 4, executed an enforcement order precautionary measures issued by the GIP of the Court of Milano, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office Milano, towards 7 Guests, all Albanian citizens between 34 and 24 years old, held responsible for the crime of criminal association for the purpose of burglary, aggravated by possession of firearms.

The measure arises from the results of a complex investigation conducted by the Radiomobile Operations Unit of the Sesto San Giovanni Company, in the period March/July 2023, which has allowed to prove the existence of a criminal association dedicated to house burglaries in the territory of the regions Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, with the availability of firearms to be used in the event of obstacles being placed in the way of the criminal plan.

The investigations, developed with traditional methodologies and technical activities, have made it possible, in particular, to:

• contextualise the operations of the criminal group, composed of individuals of Albanian nationality, without a fixed abode, believed to be the perpetrators of at least 71 home burglaries of which 33 committed and 38 attempted;
• outline the ways of action of the group that used to choose the place where to commit the crimes same evening of the action, without any prior planning other than to commit burglaries in a specific region or province;
• identify, as the starting point for the criminal expeditions, the multi-storey car park at the airport Milano- Linate, place of custody of an Audi S4 car whose license plate they replaced with those taken from other vehicles from time to time;
• make an estimate of the value of the stolen goods, for a total of 181.200 € between valuables and cash (62.260 euros).
